Organizational Background
Mag-Debby Children, Women, and Youth Foundation (MC-WYF) was established in 2017 by Margaret Bosede Ajayi, a visionary leader who personally experienced the devastating effects of insurgency in Northeastern Nigeria between 2010 and 2013. These experiences shaped her perspective and fueled her passion to add value to society.
Driven by an insatiable desire to help others, Mrs. Ajayi founded MC-WYF as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) and Not-for-Profit entity. Our mission is to improve the lives of vulnerable populations, with a focus on capacity development for youth, leading to self-reliance and self-sustenance.
MC-WYF is committed to addressing the needs of marginalized communities, with a strong emphasis on gender equality and the empowerment of women and children. We recognize the consistent challenges faced by these groups, particularly in areas affected by insurgency and disasters.
Our organization was established to provide solutions to these problems, building on the efforts of other organizations and individuals. MC-WYF has been providing humanitarian services, including informal support to vulnerable women, empowerment programs, and skills acquisition training.
Since our official registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2022, MC-WYF has implemented several initiatives, including:
- Distribution of study materials and scholarships to less privileged children
- Skills acquisition training for women
- Community sensitization programs to end violence against women and girls
- Ramadan Feeding programs for those in need
- Awareness creation, sensitization, and radio programs
- Collaboration with other NGOs to celebrate International Days
- Case Management and also refer cases of Gender Based Violence
MC-WYF is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable members of society. We are committed to partnering with government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders to provide opportunities and empowerment schemes for women, children, and youth.
